Last year my Dad found out that he had a tumor he also had a spot on his liver. He been doing Chemo needles once a month for almost a year now. Be for a little while now he have not been feeling good. Always going to the bathroom, not wanting to eat, no energy, he lost so much weight. So my Mom made him go to the Doctor again he sent him in for an MRI and I came back and it looks like it has spread. We just found out I don't know what to. I guess till he speaks to his Cancer Doctor we will have to wait. But when you hears spread the first thing that comes to my mind is a death sentence. I feel numb and trying to stay strong for all my family, but it is not easy. Thank you

Sam1520‍ so sorry to hear about your dad. Is his oncologist aware of all his symptoms? You might also wish to consult with the oncology dietitian. He or she may be able to come up with foods your dad can easily consume with the correct amount of calories. It's so easy to go 'there' but the oncologist will come up with a treatment plan yet. There may even be a clinical trial that your dad can ask about. Treatment has come such a long way .....theres always hope!!!!!take things step by step. Do you have anyone to support you? You cant be strong at all times....you might need someone to talk to as well. Dont hesitate to reach out as needed.

@Sam1520 Hello and welcome to our caring community…..so glad you reached out to us…..there are a lot of wonderful folks here….ready to support and share and more….I am sorry to hear about your Dad's tumour…..I do understand all your emotions….my dad had 2 tumours. (Colon)…..waiting is hard……for everyone….use “this time” for cleaning…stock up the pantry…..do walks…..sit on porch/with your dad, if he can. Write down all your questions, so you/he/mom will be ready, for the appt with the Oncologist. Is appt in person? Is appt over the phone? Get clarity…..

Write the most important questions you all have, at the top of your list…in case Dr is in a “rush”…..time is of the essence….this way you are guaranteed to get answers to your pressing questions (at top of list).

The word “spread” is difficult to hear. However, the Dr may offer a different chemo, to hold the spread/at bay. There ARE options….

We are all here for you…..your dad….your mom……Keep posting, we are listening.

Regards

Thank you for the kind message. My Mom called his oncologist she sent him to get more tests done. It turns out that cancer has gotten worst. It has spread in his liver and one lymph node. He is seeing his oncologist next I guess to talk about treatments. I'm so scared.

So, my Dad, had several tests done today. The cancer is progressing, He is staying in the hospital this weekend and getting his chemo treatments. I'm also hoping that he can get some of his strength up when he is in there this weekend.
