Hey folks,

WestCoastSailor‍ Does the Cancer Society have the white ribbons for purchase? If so, where could one find one?
Thanks!

MommyT‍

I'm absolutely speechless. I have no clue. I have never seen them for sale. Anywhere.

And that is a lack on my part. Maybe there is a market for them?

WestCoastSailor‍ People buy the daffodils and the pink breast cancer ribbons I believe, with the proceeds going to the cancer and breast cancer, respectively. Maybe if they had them for sale, more people would be aware of lung cancer and would give money to support it. Just a thought. I have no clue how one would go about arranging that.

Thanks Nicky01‍

I'll pass along your thanks. Lung Cancer Canada is a great organization and is exploring deeper ties to the Canadian Cancer Society. Part of the problem is that often lung cancer patients don't live long after diagnosis so it has been hard to build momentum for the organization. The other problem is stigma. So many people feel so much guilt and are often reluctant to even talk about their diagnosis. This is changing though. The future looks bright though I look forward to the day when there is a cure.

Thank you Lacey_Moderator‍ I did not realize that about the daffodils. I think it would be good if we could show off the white ribbons!

MommyT‍ I have found some sites where we can buy the white ribbon, bracelets, angels, even white masks all representing lung cancer and I see your point that it would be nice to have the option to buy all those different kind of items through the Canadian cancer society although what would probably happen is that everybody would then want to also be able to buy items for different ribbon colour for every specific cancer and.....there are so many of them.....unfortunately and sadly way too many of them!!

Lacey_Moderator‍ I saw your message to mommy’s about the daffodils sale for the CCS are you talking about a pin or the actual daffodils? Which ever it is where can we buy them so that we make sure the profits go to the CSS, I knew the daffodils represented the CCS because of my sister and brother in law that have worked for years to help raise funds for the CCS but I have never heard that the daffodils were sold for a profit for the CCS and the daffodils are also the flowers that represent my birth month so if it helps in raising funds I would be interested in knowing more about where we can buy them!!

Hi Nicky01

We usually sell pins, real daffodils, and virtual daffodils. We sell them in April that is our official daffodil month.
