Acupuncture for dry mouth relief

Posted by Ken Anderson on Aug 31, 2020 7:35 pm

Hi folks.
Just a brief note to point out a blog that I hadn't seen before, and to highlight a post in that blog.

Dani Akrigg's blog is at https://todaymycoffeetasteslikechristmasincostarica.com/, and it's at https://todaymycoffeetasteslikechristmasincostarica.com/2020/02/13/acupuncture/ that you can read about her very positive experiences with using acupuncture to relieve the symptoms of xerostomia.

All the best,
-Ken

Hello Ken Anderson‍

Thank you for posting this.  I would have never thought of acupuncture as a possible remedy to help with dry mouth.

Have you tried it?

Sincerely,

James

JamesT‍,
No, I haven't tried acupuncture for dry mouth.  Thankfully, I'm not having serious problems with that now.  Still a bit drier than pre-treatment, and it's kind of hard to choke down some foods, but I can easily go a long time without drinking water.

Acupuncture for muscle issues?  Yeah.  But that's not cancer related.

Things for me are pretty good now.  How 'bout you?

Great to hear Ken Anderson‍

Much improved on my end as well.

Back to working out regularly, able to eat most everything.

The only think I do notice is my mouth is sometimes dry at night.

I stopped using the tablets at night as it doesn't seem that bad.  I do wonder the long term effects of having some days where my mouth is dry at night and what it could do to my teeth.

But asides from that, back to what was pre cancer living.

My sleep patterns were sure crazy during.  I couldn't get out of bed before 10:00am and I am usually a up 6:00 am person.  Slowly as the months went by I was getting up earlier and earlier to now where I am up at 5:00am...it can stop anytime now...lol

Sincerely,

James
