@Twan there are many treatments for prostate cancer. You need to understand that the Oncologist is the one that recommends the type of treatment specific to you and your situation. There may be choices offered and that is when it is best to ask what the risks and benefits are of the options presented. I'd suggest you get some further information from your medical team, and I am including a publication from the CCS to help you ask the questions needed. https://cdn.cancer.ca/-/media/files/cancer-information/resources/publications/questions-to-ask/32099-questions-to-ask-en.pdf?rev=26f3c4a6d167438ca6180bab12fb0e91&hash=39C84E258A87131132C7205055DF449F&_ga=2.2395056.1606815316.1642371686-900701983.1642371684

Hope this helps you get some important questions answered.

We have a couple of members who have undergone HIFU treatment. If you attend the meeting on Tuesday, one of them may show up.

Thanks for the information. I watched the video with dr Barkin and was very interested in talking to him. However today i talked to a radiologist and found out that my prostate has grown to 108 cc - what a shocker - so hifu is of the table. Most likely will have a radical prostatectomy. Gleason score is also high- 8 But i am feeling good.

Don't worry. My prostate weighed 126 grams. Removed by robotic surgery. I'm doing fine. You'll be fine too. Recommend you connect with kcbpcst above. I know him and he is a good man.
