State of the Union for Lung Cancer treatment

State of the Union for Lung Cancer treatment

Posted by WestCoastSailor on Mar 2, 2020 6:43 pm

Dr. Noonan did this presentation last Thursday and I found it to be an extremely good round up of the current options and treatment of lung cancer. Some pretty startling revelations/statistics in the presentation.

It is about an hour long and covers NSCLC in depth with some information on SCLC.

Thanks Angus, WestCoastSailor‍ .  Interesting statistics.  I didn’t realize the drugs we are on are so new - 2009?  I guess we are “lucky” in that respect.  I also didn’t know that immunotherapy doesn’t work very well on EGFR positive cancers.  And once again, it shows that Tagrisso works better than the ones we are on.   Lots of good stuff.

WestCoastSailor‍ , thank you for sharing Dr. Noonan’s presentation.  Everything was explained in a very concise and understandable manner.  Unfortunately, I’ve tested negative for all Mutations and  PDL1<50 so the treatment plan she explained was exactly as what I’m currently having.  You’re right, It was very interesting  regarding statistics .

Scoot‍ and Kuching‍

I'm glad you found the information useful. It is certainly challenging but at the same time there is so much exciting and encouraging in it. The outlook for lung cancer patients really is looking better and better all the time.

WestCoastSailor‍

Thank you for posting this presentation Angus. My mom has not met with the medical oncology team yet, but thanks to this presentation I feel prepared with questions to ask. I also feel more hopeful and have more encouraging news to bring back to my mom.
