lung cancer treatment - baking soda and maple syrup???

Posted by bb_2150513 on Jul 10, 2013 7:01 pm

I have stage 4 inoperable lung cancer and my neighbor suggested it would be helpful to take a mixture of baking soda and maple syrup daily.
Can this help or can this be a problem??

Thanks
BB

Hi BB,

There's a lot of stuff on the web about this idea. I've tried it because I didn't think it could hurt. The idea, as I understand it, is that the maple syrup is the 'sweet' the cancer cells love. And, the baking soda, is the thing that kills cancer cells. So the maple syrup is like a trojan horse and the baking soda is the soldiers in arms that sneak in and kill the cancer cells. You need to do your own research and decide if it can hurt, help or at the very least do no harm. You can find the recipe on the web. It needs to be cooked and then cooled.

The cure that is often suggested for lung cancer is hydrogen peroxide therapy. There is a well-known youtube video you might want to view - you'll find links to it. Again, do your own research. I'm not a medical doctor.

If you are interested in other alternative ideas to explore you might find this movie helpful: Cancer: The Forbidden Cures.

Hi BB,

The other anti-cancer treatment that has a growing body of scientific evidence is using liposomal vitamin C... I did a blog about the research my nephew did for me. Go to this link: http://cancerconnection.ca/WestCoast/blog/2013/06/22/seeking-remission-vitamin-c-therapy-research-colle to find out more.

BB, as you think about doing any alternative treatments remember to do your research. I'm not a doctor so I don't know and I'm  not YOUR doctor so I can't know what might work for you.

As patients we need to get informed and make the best life affirming choices we can. I find my naturopathic and homeopathic doctors provide a variety of well-researched options that will work given my needs. They also act in a way that complements what my oncologist and other specialists recommend.

I recommend you consider seeking some more information from a naturopathic and/or homeopathic doctor as you seek alternative treatments so you best your healing time most productively given your medical needs.

Many blessings,
Westcoast

I read on an arthritis site that anything that claims to cure should be avoided after all if it really does cure it wouldn't be a great secret. But I understand trying anything and everything. I had a pharmacist tell me that using too much baking soda can be dangerous and that these old remedies can cause more problems than solve.

Hi Puffy,
I like that... "if it really does cure it wouldn't be a great secret"
Isn't that just so sensible?!

Hi BB - hopefully you are still well enough to respond to this.  I too have been diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer and am scared shitless.  Please let me know if you are still out there.  Thank you.
