Pre-diagnosis and holding it in
Good evening,

I have just had a major panic/anxiety moment after keeping it in for so long.

I had a mammogram back in December they called me right away and asked to come back in for a second mammogram as they saw something “suspicious”.

Got referred to the Breast clinic at a hospital out in the Toronto area and had a third mammogram and then a biopsy. I was told they might remove whatever was there, which they did for the most part.

I couldn’t stand the wait and called the office late this afternoon- yes the results were in but the doctor hadn’t reviewed them. And then panic and anxiety set in because of the gut feeling I have. The sinking stomach feeling is just awful.

Couldn’t focus on my work. I had a not so great moment.

I wanted to reachout because this is such a scary and vulnerable moment. Regardless of how tough I can be in situations

@GlassofSunshine Hello and welcome from ON! So glad you reached out to us ! You found a caring community….eager to listen and share our experiences, and support one another.

Please know, all of your emotions are “normal”…..sometimes not knowing is harder than knowing……BUT please dont put the cart before the horse……you dont have any official Diagnosis etc……YES waiting is hard…..our minds go “there”….

SO: to combat this….perhaps you can call the office of your Doctor…..request a call that very day to get results; and say you can be on the cancellation list/you can go in person/you can answer the call….(though in person may be better, in case you want to ask questions and more!)

Please dont visit Dr Google….there is nothing for you to search up….nothing to inquire about…..

If/when you get any results, and are comfortable to share with us; please do…..we will listen….share our own experiences, and be there, for you.

If you wish to reach a member/ask a question, etc…..simply type “@”screen name, no space after @, select name, turns blue, they receive your message.

Welcome with open arms!

Thank so much for the kind words. I was able to talk to a close friend and felt better - pulled the tears back and sniffles and now able to focus on work.

Yes you’re right - it is never good to jump to conclusions. I’ll learn of the results in a pre arranged phone call tomorrow midmorning.

But the not knowing is worrisome. The good news is I guess they suspect it is the non invasive cancer - the one in the milk duct.

@GlassofSunshine Hi….glad your dear friend gave you needed support AND glad to hear you have an appt tomorrow! This was fast! (good !)

Many members say that working, keeps them busy, and focused and maintain a sense of “normalcy”……so just keep on workin' !

If you feel comfortable to share with us, tomorrow, please do……we care!

Warmly

@supersu. @Whitelilies

Thank you to you all for your kind and support.

The very best news is that I have fibroendoma and micro calcification. they are both benign but the fibroendoma could turn into malignancy over time.

Yesterday I was very upset but calmed down later in their evening. However, when I got my answer, I became emotional and had to decompress this afternoon.

I am beginning to feel better.

@supersu
BTW I happen to love sunflowers 😊

wonderful news. I can totally relate….I have gotten myself in such a state that no matter the results, I am a basket case for a few days.

take the time you need.
take stock of things.
research what you need to be aware of in case the fibroendoma moves onto the next stage.
stop and smell the flowers.

PS-with a name like GlassofSunshine, I just KNEW you'd love the sunny sunflowers.

cheers - enjoy your great news….your good news made MY day!

@supersu
Thank supersu

I have kept in for the past couple of months have not mentioned anything to family. Just told them today and they were like eyebrows raised and said “And you didn’t say anything?” We‘re a close knit family.

i don’t like to say anything unless I have the facts as it makes no sense to have people be upset.

@supersu
I absolutely love sunflowers and had planned if I had gotten married that I’d use sunflowers aa a bouqet. Looks like the ship has sailed on that one but sunflowers are so beautiful and happy looking.
