CT Chest - What areas will it show?

Hi,

Will the CT scan cover the areas of your armpit/lymph nodes?

Thanks,

Carrie

Drock‍ That’s a great question to ask the technician when you have your chest CT - or for your doctor if you get the chance.

As a non-trained person, I would think it would - I think they’d want to know if there is any swelling of anything in that whole area.

Once during an ultrasound for fibroids, I asked how small an object they could detect, and I was told “as small as 2mm - about the size of a pinhead.” Now, a CT is different technology, but if they can see something the size of a pinhead on what to me is a fuzzy black-and-white ultrasound image, they’re really good at what they do!

Come back and let us know what you find out!

Hi Cynthia,

Thank you for replying to my message. I think I will find out prior to my scan, just to make sure. As you say, it would make sense that it would but if I confirm I won’t need to worry about it.

Have a terrific day!

Carrie
