All I know is that I seem to be in a race to find out what's wrong with me before it kills me. I am told that the soonest I can even see a specialist is 2nd week of March. Problems became noticeable 2 months ago and I had a private ct scan done 2 weeks ago and the preliminary report apparently showed nothing. Does anybody have any recommendation on how to get to a specialist faster. I have digital copy of the ct scan but don't know what to look for so it's not much help to me.

Sorry if I don't belong in this forum but I feel I have to try anything at this point.

Thank you for responding snacotart‍ . Does your family doctor have a copy of your CT scan? Can you give
him or her a call tomorrow and have them explain the results to you over the phone?

Thanks for the response Brighty, my doctor reviewed the report with me but not the actual scan so I do intend to try and review that with them tomorrow and also see if there is any other referral I can get that's sooner than 4 weeks.

Thanks again, going to try and sleep now

You mention a specialist, but you don't say in what field the specialist is in.

In general terms, I'll share this and hope it provides assistance.

I had a recurrence of cancer in 2018. I had a back up plan for surgery after the immunotherapy failed to kill the cancer. Unfortunately, the three months that had gone by left the Plan B surgeon I was to use booked up and unavailable for months. So I had a tumor growing that I could not only feel, but see getting worse. I spoke with the surgeon's office and asked if anyone else was available in his department, and even went so far as to have him reach out to his peers in other cancer hospitals. Well, after some additional advocating - I got the surgery done by one of his peers within days not months.

I suggest you contact the specialist you are waiting for, ask if others in their department could see you sooner - and if that does not work speak with the department head of the hospital, and keep networking. The squeaky wheel gets the grease.
