I did call my family doctor asking her to refer me to another doctor after I was rescheduled for the second time in a week. Apparently the general surgeon just keeps cancelling his caner clinics at the hospital. My family doctor's receptionist said that she would she would pass along my information to the doctor. I am hoping to hear back from her by the end of the week. I am in Ottawa.

Rachel, it is the waiting that is the kicker -- I don't think that anyone understands how stressful the waiting is. I found out the results of the biopsy on December 8th, took what seemed like an eternity to get an appointment with the Oncologist/surgeon (1 week), saw her on December 21 and then finally got a surgical date last week for January 20th. The called me today to say they had a cancellation and I could have it - of course I jumped at it -- it through my day into a spin but it will be worth it --- where are you? Is there a chance that you can have your doctor send you to a different surgeon? Hang in there -- that is the hardest part I know ....
