Dad Just Diagnosed with Stage IV Metastatic Liver Cancer
Sometimes I think just having the binder to hold helped support my Mom. She felt it propped her up when I couldn't accompany them to appointments. I got her the kind with pockets front and back, s...

Caregiver tips
Charliebrown - Please forgive the delay in responding to you. I only found your message today. I'm sorry to hear about your dad. Not only does life often save some of its most difficult challenges to the end, it can also afford us some unexpected surprises like bringing you and your father closer int he last 3 months than throughout your life. I trust that will offer you comfort as you navigate the many phases and faces of grief. As you know, we have many resources about loss and grief on Virtual Hospice and I will welcome you there or here whenever you have a question or just want to know you're not alone.

What happened and who she was...
Hi Dawn, I'm so sorry for the loss of your dear mom. It is so hard to lose a mom and always brings the little child in us back. Guilt is an emotion that people commonly experience after losing someone. In this video Kenneth Doka talks about Grief reactions: Guilt (http://bit.ly/IkZYH2). Grief wears many coats and many colours. Sometimes it feels like a cut, sometimes is comes and goes in waves and sometimes it can even be a moment of comfort. This article on grief (http://bit.ly/gT9G2L) helps describe grief and how we deal with it.
I hope this helps a wee bit. I'm here to listen should you want to "talk" more.
